Female, but a bit heavy.
When it comes to writing product reviews, I think the hardest part is writing about perfumes. With other beauty products, you can describe consistency, results, etc. But with perfumes, just the scent. So I have to do my best. ☺️ I got to test this when people were asked who wanted to try it. So "huge thanks" to Sara for letting me test it. 🩷 I got a pretty immediate impression of what I felt about this. But I tested it for about two weeks to really be sure. For me, this is a bit too heavy of a scent. Does it smell floral? Rose? Yes, as I said, I find it really hard to describe perfume. But it is definitely a very feminine scent. A scent that I associate with older ladies. 🙈 Upon application, it smells very strong, but it doesn't have a long-lasting effect. So after about 30 minutes, you can't smell it anymore. So unfortunately, this wasn't right for me, or a scent that I would enjoy. But what one likes is completely individual. And if you like heavier feminine scents. Good, but not the best.
Product number 2 of 2 from Fenty to be reviewed is the lip mask. And I am a very diligent user of lip balm, so it was a perfect influencer assignment! Fenty's lip mask is unique. And both in terms of the packaging's appearance (which I have only previously had with a lip product from essence), and the formula/consistency. But I am not completely convinced. 🤔 Actually, the packaging is neither bad nor super good. It's just okay. It is, as mentioned, unique. A little fun. 😄 The formula is also, as mentioned, unique. The longevity of the lip mask on the lips is outstanding! I have certainly not had a lip product that has stayed on my lips for so long, and that I haven't needed to reapply for a very long time. So that's almost fantastic! 🙌 So does the lip mask do wonders for the lips? Well, I really don't know. The formula is almost like a silicone. Just like the serum that I am also testing, the lip mask gives a stickiness. And I also don't know if the lips become smoother and firmer? Or if the lip mask provides nourishing moisture, as promised. In some way, it feels a bit unclear what I actually think about this. I am not completely sold. As it feels (so far), I probably wouldn't buy it again. A big plus is that it is vegan, as I would like to use vegan products in the first place. But I will use the lip mask until it runs out. And who knows? Doesn't quite make it all the way
First and foremost, I want to say: so incredibly fun that LYKO has been able to get Fenty into their assortment! 🥳 And that we got the opportunity to test it. ☺️🥰 To describe my skin, and skin condition: 46 years old, normal to dry skin, that needs moisturizing products. I have some signs of aging/wrinkles. I've had a bit of a tough time lately, which has taken a toll on me. Poor sleep and a lot of stress. To describe the appearance and packaging, the serum is in a nice and handy pump bottle. I also appreciate that it is made of plastic. There is a lot of talk about reducing the use of plastic. But as long as it is recycled, I think plastic is not worse than if it had been a glass bottle. So the packaging is easy to handle during use, as it is not heavy. Handy pump for dosing. The scent is lovely! ☺️ I assume it is melon-scented, since the serum contains fruit juice from Kalahari melon. I associated the scent with peach. The scent strength is medium, so I think even scent-sensitive people wouldn't have a problem with the scent. The consistency of the serum is like a gel. A bit sticky. 😅 But despite its stickiness, I still feel that the serum is absorbed by the skin. I don't have sensitive skin and tolerate most things. But I would say that I find the serum to be mild, and it could also suit people with sensitive skin. After about 10 days of use, my impression is that the serum doesn't quite make it all the way when it comes to moisturizing and plumping my skin. But I've also had a lot of stress, so that could absolutely have a big impact. Maybe I will see a more noticeable result after longer use. Pretty basic…
Since I have my hair (thick and coarse hair strands with texture), I am a heavy user of masks/hair treatments, needed a new one, so I chose this. I have tried quite a bit of Lyko's own brand: ByLyko, and most of it has been good. ☺️ But considering that I have the hair type I have, my hair needs a lot of moisture & oil. And unfortunately, this one does not fully deliver. I usually have to use quite a bit of product for my hair. But with this one, I had to use a bit more amount. The packaging is like most ByLyko products: very nice! 😃 And super practical that it comes in a tube, for easy application. The scent is lovely, although quite weak. A bit hard to describe. But it is a bit sweet. Floral? Unfortunately, the consistency is a bit too loose. Which I interpret as there being too little oil in the mask, for what my hair needs. The hair does become quite easy to detangle, and feels like it gets a bit smooth in the lengths. But even though I experience it as a bit smooth, there is still more to wish for. Because my hair still feels quite dry. I have used the hair serum in the same series, and I find that the mask is slightly better than the serum. But it still wasn't a home run. Now I've started getting emails every time someone comments on my post. It used to be like that, but it disappeared some time ago. And it feels unnecessary to get both an email and a notification in the app about it. A notification in the app is enough. However, there are many I've heard from privately on Insta and Messenger. And we all agree that we miss the notifications about someone we follow has made a post/uploaded something new. But you always get a notification when someone has commented on the same post that you have commented on. Which can result in a lot of notifications. But you don't get a notification when someone has tagged you/mentioned you in a post. There’s a bit to refine. I feel at least. Not "powerful" enough for my hair.
I took the opportunity to buy this when Lyko had a crazy big discount, about 2 months ago. My hair is coarse and curly. And needs all the help it can get to not be dry. So with my hair's starting condition, this is not "powerful" enough. With curly hair like mine, which has so much structure on the hair strands. I need a product that probably has a thicker consistency (since this one is quite thin in consistency), and probably has more fat in it. I have gradually tested the amount. Neither 8 nor 12 pumps were enough. The last few times I have taken 16 pumps! And then complemented with quite a bit of hair oil. The serum was, however, easy to pump out and apply. Nice bottle! The serum left no "film" or sticky feeling on the hair. I found it to be quite scent-free. At least I didn't notice any particular scent. I can imagine that the serum is suitable for those who do not have such coarse hair strands, or such dry hair as I have. I wonder what the amount is in the products in the kit? I've asked this question several times before regarding other products, and I almost always get the answer that it is stated at the very bottom of the description. But no. It doesn't. At least not in the app. If you go through the web/website, you almost always see the amount. I've pointed this out before. And got a response that you would look into this. But it's probably been at least half a year since I last brought this up. And the problem persists. The idea with the app is supposed to be that it should be smoother than going through the website? You can't use the bonus shop on the “regular website.” Not that I know of anyway. Felt inspired today and did my curls, which I usually don’t have the energy for, but usually just put my hair up in a bun. 😅 I also tried a new blush, purchased a few months ago. But I haven’t gotten around to using it until now. So there will be a review on that later. ☺️ During the summer months (the hottest months), I skipped primer & foundation, and just used setting powder. Elf’s setting powder has become a favorite, it gives a crazy nice glow! 🤩 So I’ve continued to just use that (+concealer) as a base. I had a conversation with the lovely Mona about brown mascara, so I bought that and have been testing it for about a week now. Fantastic product, but…
I have a pretty big love for the brand Essence. And that’s mainly because I think their mascaras are fantastically good! And I have tested some other products (mainly nail polish) from Essence. So to this one: I am addicted to moisturizing my lips, and having some product on my lips. So much moisturizing it becomes. 🙈😅 And what is the result? The product itself is a 100% yes! It is marketed/named butter balm. And the product is fantastic! It softens the lips. Is ”longlasting”, which I have never really experienced to this degree with any product. So it’s crazy good, not having to reapply in ”good times & bad”. Gives a nice glossy result on the lips. Doesn’t stick in any way, on the lips. So the product itself, is as I said, really damn good. But… The packaging/tube!! Once you’ve twisted up the balm, you can’t twist it down again. 😤 And I found that the balm didn’t last as long. So, I ran out of it faster than I have with any other lip balm before. 🤔 There’s tons (!) of product left in the tube, when it can’t be twisted up anymore. I tested with a ”cake stick”, and there’s over 1 cm filled inside the tube. So tons of product left that you’d like to use. 🤦🏻♀️ It’s just waste to throw away the packaging with so much left in it. So all in all: Fantastic product for the lips! 🏆 Good price (as always from Essence)! 💰 Poorly constructed packaging. 👎 Would I buy it again? Yes!
